Coral Bay

If you’re heading to Cyprus and looking to live in Paphos, the Mediterranean weather means the beach is bound to be on your agenda. Cyprus has an array of beautiful beaches, twelve of which have been awarded Blue Flag status meaning they are clean and safe for swimming in. Coral Bay is the best beach in Paphos and also the most popular. The beach is 6km north of the city, where you’ll be greeted with beautiful soft sand, shallow waters and scenery.

This part of the coast is made up of rocky headlands which shelter the bay, you’ll also be able to explore the range of sea caves and attended boat trips. Coral Bay also has a range of water sports for you to enjoy, such as kayaking, jet skis, paragliding, banana boats and crazy shark, all brilliant fun! You can spend the day at the beach at no cost or rent a sunbed for 7.50 euros. When your all beached out, you can visit the snack bar, local cafes or visit the nearby restaurants Coral Bay has to offer, serving traditional Cypriot dishes or English / American food. The Coral Bay is known for having a great community feel and has always been popular with UK expats.

Peyia which is situated mainly on the steep slopes of the coastal hills inland from Coral Bay offers beautiful views and is the perfect place for village living. The village provides plenty of choice for tavernas (cafes), has several pubs and several supermarkets, a bakery, chemist, beauticians and a bank. The lively city of Paphos is only 11.2 miles away and offers many dining and entertainment options. Paphos Airport is at 30 km while the fishing harbour and the beach of St. George are within a short distance away! Peyia has a great bus service that runs along the coast road to Coral Bay which is only 2.5 miles from Peyia itself.

Situated on the south-west coast of Cyprus, Paphos is the ideal destination for families seeking sunshine and relaxation. According to ancient history, Aphrodite rose from the sea and landed in Paphos so the island is full of archaeology, history and culture. The old town is traditional Cyprus filled with cobbled streets and pavement cafes as well as having a modern harbour downhill, filled with a variety of bars and restaurants.

Two miles beyond Paphos is the Tombs of the Kings, a Unesco World Heritage Site. For sports enthusiasts, Paphos offers a variety of water sports, has three golf courses and lots of areas where you can go horse riding, cycling or hiking in the nearby countryside. From the scenic harbour with its medieval castle, you can also enjoy a trip on a catamaran or even a speedboat and finish the day off with some souvenir shopping.
